Notes on Cooking
We encourage you to be creative with our oil. Sunflower oil has a very high smoke point which allows it to be used for sautéing, pan frying and deep drying. Our oil has a smoke point of 380 degrees, however we recommend frying at 325. Cold Pressed Sunflower oil is a healthier cooking choice to many fats and oils.
Its flavor lends it to be used not just for cooking but as an ingredient. In addition we have found that using it in baking or as a raw product such as dressings, salsa, dips and even ice cream, the natural nutty flavor is added to your food. Try using the chart below to replace butter or fat from your favorite recipes with sunflower oil (may not work for all recipes). Please keep in mind with baking that butter and oil do not contribute to the same outcome. Oil may make cakes moist while butter will create a lighter, fluffier product.
One of favorite way to use sunflower oil is for popcorn. Make it the old fashion way with sunflower oil in a pot, add kernels and cover. Season with your favorite topping.
