About Our Products

Cold Pressed Sunflower Oil

We grow and produce oil from our farm as well as using seeds sourced from our growing partners in the Hudson Valley area. We have found this process to be a perfect circle and have come together with the Giles family and Walbridge Farms who grow sunflowers for us. As the crops are harvested and the seeds are transported to be pressed, the byproduct of producing the oil is a near perfect protein and healthier overall option for farmers to feed their livestock. In turn, this new feed creates a healthier animal and a better product for the farmers to sell. We have found that this relationship has strengthened the bond between many of our local farmers.

Sunflower Flour

(Gluten-Free)

Sunflower Flour is a high protein, Gluten-Free Flour. Can be used in gluten free baking or as a flavor enhancer in traditional cooking. Can be used as an equal substitute for some almond flour recipes. Our flour is certified Kosher and Gluten-Free and verified by the Non-GMO Project. Truffle Sunflower Oil

Do you love truffles? If so, then you will love our Truffle Sunflower Oil. This product is a collaboration of Hudson Valley Cold Pressed Oils and another NY company called The Truffleist. Our delicious Cold Pressed Sunflower Oil paired with their amazing black truffles. Suggested over pizza, pasta, vegetables, french fries, mashed potatoes and popcorn just to name a few.

Sunflower Brownie Mix

(Gluten-Free)

This 20 oz bag makes approximately 12 gluten free brownies. Just add eggs, butter and water and bake for 30-35 minutes for delicious fudge style brownies. Ingredients: Sugar, Sunflower Flour, Cocoa Powder, Baking Powder, Salt and Vanilla Powder.

Brunette Mix – Gluten-Free

Tastes like a Blondie but looks like a Brownie. We used our high protein, Gluten-Free Sunflower Flour to make a nutty flavored Blondie (NUT FREE). This 24 oz bag makes approximately 12 gluten free brunette bars. Just add eggs, oil, spread mix in pan and bake for approximately 25 minutes for delicious chocolate chip cookie bars. Ingredients: Sunflower Flour, Light Brown Sugar, Pure Sugar Cane, Chocolate Chips, Baking Powder, Salt and Vanilla Powder.

Raspberry Balsamic Vinegar

Raspberry Balsamic Vinegar, made in Italy. Although this product is not produced by our family, we felt it was a wonderful product to complement our Sunflower Oil. One of our most popular recipes is our Raspberry Balsamic Vinaigrette. This is the Balsamic we use in our recipe. This is a Barrel-Aged Condimento blended with cooked grape must and premium aged wine vinegar, aged up to 10 years in small oak casks. Sun-ripened, late-harvest Lambrusco and Trebbiano grapes are hand-selected before soft pressing to obtain “Mosto Fiore,” the highest quality grape must. Pairing our sunflower oil and this thick Raspberry Balsamic is heavenly. Other suggested uses: drizzle over roasted vegetables, meats and desserts.

Sugar Scrubs

Our Sugar Scrubs contain three simple ingredients: Sunflower Oil, Pure Sugar Cane and Wyndmere Essential Oils. It will exfoliate and soften your skin without feeling greasy. They are high in Vitamin E from our Cold Pressed Sunflower Oil. Wyndmere oils are 100% pure essential oils.

Lemon Lavender rich in antioxidants, which protect cells from damaging free radicals
Peppermint – help relieve skin redness, irritation and overused muscles
Citrus -contains Limonene which is an antimicrobial, antibacterial and an antioxidant

Sun Sticks

Our Sun Sticks are Sunflower Oil in a roller with Wyndmere essential oils. Sunflower Oil is very high in Vitamin E which is both a nutrient and antioxidant. It helps restore and rejuvenates dehydrated skin. Our Sun Stick rollers can be used as a Vitamin E applicator. Can be used on the lips, under the eyes, cuticles, minor cuts, scrapes, burns, sun burn,scarring and bug bites Can also be used as a men beard oil. Comes in non-scented, lavender, citrus or peppermint.  Do not use as a sunscreen. Avoid contact in eyes.

Sweet Breads

We offer Banana, Pumpkin and Zucchini Chocolate Chip Loaves. All of our breads are made with our Sunflower Oil creating a moist delicious bread. Varieties will change throughout the year as it’s always fun to come up with new recipes.

Hummus

We started bringing hummus to our farm markets just as an example of one way to use our Sunflower Oil. After about a year of many patrons asking to purchase the hummus we decided it was time to package it for sale. Well it’s here! We sell 8oz containers of Hummus using Chick Peas, our Sunflower Oil, Lemon, Garlic, Salt & Pepper. It’s that simple but so good!

Gluten-Free Brownies

Made with our Sunflower Four, these yummy brownies don’t last long at the markets. People who don’t follow a gluten-free lifestyle love them. You can not tell its gluten free. We sell them in traditional or peanut butter flavor. Get them while supplies last.

Gifts

Whether it’s a gift for the holidays, birthdays, or a thank you, treat someone to something unique. We carry Oil and vinegar gift baskets and Skin Care Box sets at many of our markets. We will be working on a basket to incorporate our Gluten-Free flour in the near future.

John Haight

Former IBMer, John is the Patriarch of the family. Loves to chat up a good story and listen to yours. But don’t turn your back, as he might be gone. He has been known to leave without notice. You can often find him driving around delivering our products throughout the Hudson Valley. His partner in crime, Cheryl works for the Wappingers Court system and can sometimes be found accompanying him on deliveries. He has much pride for his family and often refers to his 3 grandchildren, Claudia, Delaney and Colin as his legacy.

Allison Haight

Born and raised on Long Island. Graduated the Culinary Institute of America in 1994. Worked for 20 years in the food and beverage industry including over 10 years for renowned Chef, Bob Kinkead. Starting working for Hudson Valley Cold Pressed Oils in 2015. Along with her husband Jeff, a title is hard to come by. I am the organizer of the company. I plan on and off premise events as well as run the inside sales. You’ll often find me baking our fresh baked breads. I’m always thinking about what’s next and enjoy coming up with fresh ideas for the company. The best part of my job is working in a Sunflower field with my best friend, the guy with the big black hat.

Jeffrey Haight

Born and raised in the Hudson Valley. Graduated the Culinary Institute of America in 1996. Worked in various notable restaurants and hotels in the Washington DC region, followed by a career in food sales with Chefs Warehouse. Started with Hudson Valley Cold Pressed Oils in 2017. I am a people person and love to talk to others about our products, their lives and the world around us. I prefer not to have a title. You can find me at the farm producing our products, in a restaurant or retail store talking shop with a Chef or Owner, and on the road delivering. I enjoy experimenting with new recipes and product development. I’m the guy with the big black hat.

Born and raised in the Hudson valley, small business owner for 30 plus years. Dedicated conservation volunteer and advocate for the Arlington Central School District community. Founder of Hudson Valley Cold Pressed Oils. In charge of farming and oil production. Often found playing on his tractor.
